Step 1 - Hard 808s To make your 808s hard, you have to choose 808s that have a transient energy. Some 808s don't have an initial knock and you can't mix knock into an 808. You can run your 808s through saturation to make them translate across many more speakers and listening systems. If you're in FL Studio, you can run your 808s through Fruity Waveshaper with a convex curvature and turn your mix level down to balance the saturated tone with the dry signal.
